RtW Crew Visits McDonald's

Brian, Eddie, and Nick of Review the World make a stop at McDonald's for lunch during a day of filming for the website. The guys try burgers, fries, the Shamrock Shake, and a Premium Southwest Salad. We give thoughts on food and share some McD's reflections in this brand new, high-def video. Enjoy!

  1. Enjoyed your waxing philosophic about fountain coke. Reminds me of similar conversations I've had about a sheetz soft pretzel and glass bottle coke. Rock on RtW!

    1. @Beau Thanks for the comment! Yes, that sort of "off the cuff", informal chitchat among friends is something that doesn't just make the videos more authentic but more fun. I've been at this a long time and "performing" for the camera isn't for me. I like it to be natural like the camera is just another friend joining in on the fun.

  2. Glad to see a video that's not just dumping all its venom over McDonald's for a change. =)

Quarter Pounder, Shamrock Shake (I hope I get one before they're done this year), the barbeque sauce, and fountain Coke... good stuff.

I do agree about the Coke, definitely. That and the orange drink are my two staples when I go there, typically. And is it me, or is the ketchup there kind of unique as well?

    1. You're right. Well, I guess I went through my "McDonald's hatred" stage about a half-decade ago. Now I take it for what it is, affordable, convenient, and nice to do every now and again, just be wary of overdoing it on the giant drinks and fries too often. I think I've ran the gauntlet of every item being my temp. favorite for a spell then moving on. Hell, I'd rarely had a McNugget my entire life until about 3-4 years ago then wondered what took so long. For lent I suppose they'd been doing 2 fish filets combo and I did go all the way twice and get that with fries and a Coke. No regrets. The Hi-C orange? Man that's great stuff. Used to serve it in a big dispensers at all the school functions when I was a kid. You're right about the ketchup, too. I'd forgotten that but I've def. heard theories before.

    2. Yeah, I completely agree: It's perfectly fine as a now-and-then thing, but it's not something to overdo. Personally, if I ate there more frequently, I'd eat more of their salads and grilled chicken (which I still like on occasion), but for as often as I get to eat it, I like to go for some of the other stuff.

Speaking of favorites, a lot of people love the McRib (I do, too), but what I really want them to bring back as a temporary item is the Arch Deluxe. Sooo good-- the sauce makes it, in my opinion. Just dress up a Quarter Pounder the same way and I'll be okay with that.

Speaking of lent, you ever hear of the Hula Burger? It was down to that and the Filet O' Fish, and the latter obviously won out. =)

I remember when you could get Hi-C orange at school events. Moving to Canada, they don't have Hi-C here, but they did have an equivalent. They took it away for a while, but eventually brought it back as a Fruitopia version. Not sure whether it's the exact same thing, but it's close enough. =)
