Who The Hell Is This Ugly Old Bald Guy?

Good question. You can put your hand down now.

First of all, I not your typical grandpa. Grandma and I have not been together for over 30 years. Daughter Audrey is 42 and, like many of her friends, is currently living at home with her mother. Unlike most of her friends, for various reasons, she has never been married, a single condition that's likely to continue into the future.

My younger daughter, Robin, is 38, and has been successful with her first marriage. She recently quit her job with the Red Cross where she set up blood drives and now is trying to adjust to staying home with her two daughters, Olivia, 6, and Alexandra, 3. My ex-wife and two daughters moved to the West Coast the same month that Robin turned 10. They all still live there, Robin living about a dozen miles north of my ex.

I'm an only child and a Leo but very close to being a Virgo. Robin is also a Leo and constantly pushes to get her way.

When we divorced in 1975, I planned on never marrying again, a plan that I have kept. My ex-wife planned on getting married again although she didn't have anyone particular in mind. Well, she never found Mr. Right and has given up the search.

We have remained friends, talk by phone a couple of times a month, and try to get together, usually at Christmas.

You can tell by my name that my father liked being a Robert Roy White so much that he named me after himself. Unfortunately, like the buck, the name stops here. I've never gotten a nickname so everyone calls me Bob.

What do I do if I don't watch television shows, cartoons, or play video games? Well, I spend a lot of time on the Internet and also watch a lot of DVDs. From habit, I buy all my DVDs and, if I don't like them, trade them back. That way I have plenty to watch and no time limit on having to return the disk. Fortunately, the going price at the Lakewood/Denver pawn shops is currently $3.00 for everything, double disks and all, except Disney. TV seasons tend to go for about $15.00. Say I go in and buy four DVD, I'll try to make sure one of those four is a disk that I know nothing about.

I was laid off in a reorganization on October 11, 2006. I had worked weekends there for almost 13 years. Since I'm single, not dating, I can pretty well get by on my Social Security and haven't really made up my mind if I want another job. I may just work temporary jobs. The area I work in is support staff at law firms.

I've just finished taking my physicals for the year and don't have any major problems at the moment. I'll finish going to a back clinic in March of 2007 and my back is feeling better already.

My current advise is keep your heads above water and, when trouble comes your way, blame it on the dog.
